How Zilla Sales connections work
Know exactly what each connection stage means, what a paid plan unlocks, and which follow-up actions your team owns.
Zilla Sales is a marketplace and matching platform. It helps your team publish an opportunity, identify possible rep fit, receive applications, unlock contact details, and conduct direct outreach. A self-service subscription is not a recruiting service and does not mean every recommended rep has already agreed to a conversation.
Free listing versus paid access
With a free listing, you can submit an opportunity for review. After approval, it can be published in the marketplace so relevant reps can view it and apply. Applications remain visible in your company workspace, but direct contact details require the access shown for your current plan.
A paid self-service plan adds the contact credits and network access displayed on live pricing. It lets your team review recommended or browsable profiles, unlock selected contacts, and reach out directly. Always use the pricing page and checkout as the source of truth for current plan terms.

Four stages that are easy to confuse
- Recommendation: available profile evidence suggests possible fit for your product, buyer, territory, or channel. Interest is not confirmed.
- Application: a rep actively responded to your opportunity.
- Unlocked contact: your company used a credit to reveal the available contact details for a selected rep. Unlocking is access, not a guaranteed reply.
- Verified introduction: Zilla has separately confirmed fit and interest as part of an accepted Managed Campaign. This is not included automatically with a self-service plan.
One new contact unlock normally uses one credit. If that same rep is already unlocked for your company, opening the profile again does not consume another credit.

Your team owns the outreach
Publishing a listing creates an inbound path, but your team should not rely only on applications. For the best use of a self-service plan:
- Monitor both Matches and Applications.
- Read the rationale and full profile before spending a credit.
- Unlock the strongest credible fits.
- Send a specific message explaining why the opportunity fits that rep's buyers, territory, or line card.
- Follow up professionally if the first message receives no response.
- Continue reviewing and contacting other strong-fit profiles instead of waiting on one person.
- Use the Outreach log to record contact attempts, replies, calls, and follow-up dates. See Track rep outreach and follow-ups.
A log entry records an outcome reported by your team or Zilla staff. It is separate from a recommendation, application, or verified introduction. Saving an entry does not message the rep or automatically verify the relationship.
The quality and speed of your outreach matter. Zilla supplies discovery, matching, and contact-access tools; your company is responsible for using those tools, starting conversations, and qualifying the relationship.
Contracts, commissions, and payouts
After connecting, the company and rep perform their own diligence and enter their own agreement. Zilla does not employ the rep, become a party to that agreement, collect a success fee on the hire, or manage commissions between the parties. Confirm experience, territory, availability, line conflicts, classification, payment terms, and compliance directly before moving forward.
